The fire hasn't moved much toward Jamesburg/Cachagua overnight. Heavy fog rolled in and the fire slowed down. It took about another 3,300 acres, much of it on the Big Sur side of the fire. According to the most recent GeoMac file (a day an a half old) the northeastern flank of the fire line is about 5.5 miles away from our house.
Here's this morning's report:
"The fire continues to spread north and west in the Pico Blanco area and along Highway 1. It is spreading toward the Pico Blanco Scout Camp and down the west slope of Pico Blanco. The fire is spreading downslope toward the Ventana Inn area. Firefighters are having difficulties with tactics in the Big Sur community because of snags, power lines, and limited access.
At last report, the fire has burned through Partington Ridge and Partington is now is cooling, with no active fires on the ridge.
