The next Cachagua Fire Information Meeting is scheduled to be held at the Cachagua Community Park at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 16th.
I'll be there to do the audio and post it to KUSP's website, if you can't make the meeting, or don't want to go, for some reason.
Cachagua Fire, 659-7700, has offered to escort you home if you are in the Voluntary Evacuation area (in an earlier post, I stated "if you are in the Mandatory Area" - that information was incorrect) and wish to attend the meeting and return home, but fear being prohibited to do so by the CHP.
The word seems to be out, and we had no problem with the CHP officer stationed at Trampa Canyon checkpoint last night on the way back home.

Under the circumstances, isn't Wednesday a little far off for the next meeting?
I'm organizing a meeting between concerned residents inside of the mandatory evacuation zone and Forest Liason Chuck Dixon and possibly reps from Sheriff/CHP to start a dialog with the Unified Command.
If you are inside the mandatory evacuation area and interested in attending, please contact me using my website at http://www.carmellavender.com/contacts.htm
A major issue to resolve before the meeting is a guarantee that we all can return to our homes and not get thrown out of the area for trying to communicate. Without that, communication is going to be difficult. So I am working on this with Chuck.
