More information on fire retardants...

July 3, 2008, just after midnight...

Steve Scarlett, a Carmel Valley fireman and a neighbor up on Lambert Flats, has some more information to offer on fire retardants.

Here's what Steve wrote: 

"The product we used in Big Sur is called Thermo-gel. It worked well and saved an old and useful wooden bridge behind Deetjens. 

 

 We have just learned of another product 

  called Fire Break Spray. 

Also of interest are these Kevlar fire shields
